Our Women’s Community Services provide holistic, gender-responsive and trauma-informed support for women experiencing multiple and complex needs, including women serving community orders and women resettling from HMP Eastwood Park.

We are looking for a Women’s Keyworker to join our Swansea service, supporting women to reduce social harms and re-offending while empowering them to access opportunities and reach their full potential.

This is a rewarding role where you will provide practical and emotional support to women, helping them address areas such as housing, substance misuse, health, finance, previous trauma, children and families, and education, training and employment. The role is based in Swansea, with outreach and co-location working across the service delivery area as appropriate.

What you will do:

• Provide 1:1 practical and emotional support to women
• Hold a caseload of women accessing the service through community orders or resettlement from prison
• Complete assessments and develop strength-based action plans
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including Probation, HMP Eastwood Park, housing providers, social services, substance misuse services and health services
• Provide outreach support to improve accessibility and engagement
• Work from co-location and satellite sites across the Swansea service delivery area as appropriate
• Keep relevant parties informed of issues, concerns and successes, with particular attention to risk
• Attend multi-agency meetings and advocate for women where appropriate
• Attend Family and/or Criminal Court when necessary
• Facilitate group interventions where required
• Maintain clear and accurate case records
• Use qualitative and quantitative tools to monitor each woman’s journey of progress
• Work in line with safeguarding, confidentiality and information-sharing requirements

What we are looking for:

• Someone who is compassionate, resilient and committed to supporting women with multiple and complex needs. 
• Knowledge of women’s multiple and complex needs, such as domestic abuse, substance misuse, trauma, housing issues or contact with the criminal justice system
• A trauma-informed and holistic approach
• The ability to build trusting relationships with women who may find it difficult to access services
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to manage and prioritise a caseload
• Good computer literacy and administrative skills
• A commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity
• A willingness to reflect on practice and continue developing professionally
• Experience of working with women with multiple and complex needs, developing local partnerships, completing needs assessments or creating tailored support plans would be desirable.
• You will need to hold a valid full driving licence, have full access to a vehicle, and be willing to travel across the service delivery area. There may be occasions where you are required to transport clients or volunteers in your own vehicle, with business insurance cover reimbursed.
