BES Asset Reliability delivers specialist Condition Monitoring services that help customers identify potential issues in their assets before they lead to costly failures or unplanned downtime. Our expert engineers collect and analyse real‑time data — including vibration, temperature and oil condition — to detect irregularities and assess asset health. With predictive maintenance techniques, we enable maintenance to be carried out only when needed, helping customers improve efficiency, extend asset life and keep critical equipment operating reliably.

We are open to applications from candidates based anywhere in the UK, however, you must be willing to travel within the UK and overseas.

What will you be doing? 

As a Marine Condition Monitoring Engineer you will support the Marine division through the delivering of a range of condition monitoring work scopes including the installation of vibration monitoring systems, vibration analysis and thermographic surveys.

You will: 

• Lead or support work scopes, including system installations, fault investigations, diagnostic reviews, technical assessments and client-facing recommendations.
• Review condition monitoring data, identify trends, diagnose developing faults, and communicate clear actions to internal teams and clients.
• Deliver consistent technical standards across reporting, data interpretation, recommendations, and client communication.
• Represent the marine team professionally during client discussions, vessel visits, technical meetings, and work scope reviews.

To join our team, you will need:  

• Experience in condition monitoring within marine, offshore, or heavy rotating equipment environments.
• Solid knowledge of vibration analysis, certified to category 2 by recognised body and practical fault diagnosis across rotating equipment.
• Experience with thermography, performance monitoring, remote monitoring, data review, and technical reporting.
• Ability to interpret data and convert findings into clear, practical recommendations.
• Experience working with a broad marine asset base, including propulsion systems, thrusters, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, generators, electric motors, and auxiliary systems.
• Strong teamwork ethic
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-specialist stakeholders.
• Confidence working directly with clients, vessel crews, internal teams, and operational stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to travel onboard vessels and to client sites as required.
• Ability to gain UKSV SC clearance for MOD projects.
• Full driving license
