The Role

As a Metallographic Technician, you'll prepare and evaluate material samples for microscopic examination, ensuring high-quality results for customers and internal projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and sectioning metal and material samples
• Mounting, grinding, polishing and etching samples
• Performing routine metallographic evaluations
• Recording test data and observations accurately
• Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment
• Supporting investigations and materials analysis projects
• Maintaining laboratory quality, safety and housekeeping standards
• Contributing to continuous improvement activities

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good problem-solving and organisational skills
• Ability to follow detailed procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills

Experience in metallographic sample preparation or training in metallurgy/materials science would be advantageous, but not essential.
