About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional to play a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant, and positive working environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with current legislation, conducting audits and risk assessments, and supporting managers and employees with health and safety best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company standards.
  • Deliver health and safety inductions and training to employees.
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and external stakeholders as required.
  • Support managers in implementing safe working practices across all departments.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.

Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety Officer, Advisor, or similar position.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent qualification).
  • Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

  • Membership of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health).
  • Experience within manufacturing, construction, logistics, facilities management, or a related sector.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or higher-level Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 standards.
