Bradfords Building Supplies is expanding its Plumbing & Heating offering, and we’re excited to be opening our newest dedicated Plumbing & Heating branch in Saltash.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join us at an exciting time and play a key role in helping establish and grow the new branch. As Plumbing & Heating Deputy Branch Manager, you’ll work closely with the Branch Manager to build strong customer relationships, develop sales and help create a successful, high-performing team from the ground up.

With your knowledge of the Plumbing & Heating market, passion for customer service and ability to drive sales, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact as we grow this exciting new part of the Bradfords business.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong plumbing and heating product knowledge, a passion for customer service and the confidence to lead, coach and inspire a team. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving sales, developing customer relationships and ensuring the smooth, safe and successful operation of the branch.

As this is a new branch, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the way we work, develop new business opportunities and establish Bradfords as a trusted Plumbing & Heating supplier in the local area.

When the Branch Manager is away, you may also take responsibility for the overall running of the branch.

You’ll be a key member of the branch team, combining your product expertise, sales skills and leadership experience to deliver outstanding results.

Your role will include:

• Providing expert advice and exceptional service to every customer.
• Building strong, long-term relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Managing customer enquiries, quotations, orders and delivery arrangements.
• Proactively following up quotes and identifying new business opportunities.
• Maximising sales and margin through excellent service, relationship building and effective negotiation.
• Identifying opportunities to upsell, increase customer spend and grow market share.
• Supporting the management and day-to-day running of the Plumbing & Heating department and sales office.
• Coaching, mentoring and developing your team to deliver consistently high standards.
• Setting goals and targets to motivate your team and drive profitable growth.
• Working closely with transport and other branch teams to ensure an efficient delivery service.
• Ensuring stock is correctly presented, merchandised and managed.
• Supporting the prevention of stock loss through damage, theft and booking errors.
• Maintaining the highest standards of health and safety and ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
• Supporting the wider branch operation and taking responsibility for the branch when required.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Knowledge and experience of plumbing and heating products.
• A strong customer service background.
• A proven ability to drive sales and achieve results.
• Experience of managing, coaching or developing a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The confidence to have challenging conversations when needed.
• The ability to work under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• A positive, flexible and proactive attitude.
