Bank Staff - Learning Support Assistants

Wirral Met College are currently looking for Learning Support Assistants to support our Additional Learning Support department on an ad hoc basis.

Bank staff are paid at an hourly rate.

Job Purpose

Supporting students with additional support needs across a range of curriculum areas.

Key Responsibilities

1. To provide appropriate support for individual or groups of students in/out of class, in accordance with their individual support plan, so that they achieve their learning goals. 
2. To work with subject and ALS tutors to ensure appropriate and effective support to meet individual student needs.
3. To contribute to the maintenance of all necessary tracking and monitoring documentation (e.g. daily records; student reviews).

Qualifications Experience

• Level 2 or above English/literacy qualifications
• Level 2 or above Maths/numeracy qualifications
• Experience of MS Office packages: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Be able to support young people and adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in a variety of settings.
• Be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how to work with other professionals to support learning.
