Reporting to the Quarry Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our commitment to leaving a better planet for future generations. Your responsibilities will include sampling and testing materials to the relevant British Standards, producing grading certificates, and monitoring quality to ensure compliance with specification requirements.

You will analyse testing data and trends to identify potential quality issues at an early stage, while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. You will be responsible for your own safety, the safety of colleagues, and members of the public.

The role also includes providing weighbridge cover when required, delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Flexibility to travel to other sites is essential, and experience operating mobile plant during busy periods would be advantageous

What will you do

• Safely collect representative material samples from quarry stockpiles for testing and quality assessment.
• Carry out sample preparation, including drying, sieving, grading, and accurate recording of test results.
• Produce particle size analysis and grading certificates in line with required standards.
• Provide weighbridge cover across quarry sites, delivering excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Support operations by providing mobile plant cover where required and appropriately trained.
• Maintain full compliance with health, safety, PPE, Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs), and risk assessment requirements at all times.
•  Demonstrate flexibility to travel between sites, maintain company vehicles and equipment, and work occasional overtime to meet business needs.

About you

• Full UK driving licence required.
• NVQ Level 2 in Mobile Plant Operations and experience operating mobile plant is desirable, however full training will be provided
• Confident using Microsoft Excel and Word in an office environment.
• Customer-focused, with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, professional approach.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Flexible team player, willing to learn new skills, undertake training, travel between sites, and work additional hours when required.
