About the Role
As the Site Supervisor, you are responsible for directly managing overhead line resource. This includes overseeing daily operations on site, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and compliant to legislative and client requirements. You will act as the prime link between operatives working on-site and the project management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Ipsum OHL operatives to the highest safety standards, ensuring safety regulations and procedures are adhered to and that a safe working environment is provided and maintained.
- Supervise OHL construction activities, ensuring they align with project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
- Track and report progress of the construction project, highlighting any delays or obstacles.
- Take responsibility for advising the project manager of estimated finish time of permit works and assisting in the successful implementation of the client’s planned service interruption (PSI) procedure
- Advise the project manager, at the earliest opportunity, when progress is not going to plan and there is a risk or over-run after all mitigation measures are exhausted
- Serve as point of contact between project managers, contractors, and workers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Oversee the availability and condition of tools, materials, and equipment required for the site, ensuring proper use and maintenance
- Ensure day-to-day plant, vehicle and tool inspections are completed, recorded and actioned.
About you….
- At least three years working in the overhead line industry, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
- Hands-on experience in managing teams and site operations
- Emergency First Aid certification (St John Ambulance, British Red Cross or Ofqual Certified provider)
- City & Guilds 2339, NVQ or ONC in Electrical Engineering discipline desirable, overhead line experience within the electricity distribution industry, distribution network operator authorisation.
- SHEA Power
- Full driving licence
- SSSTS (or IOSH Managing Safely) as a minimum. Working towards SMSTS or NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and DNO distribution safety rules (DSRs).
- In-depth knowledge of OHL plant, tool and equipment use and their maintenance and inspection requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
