Job Description: Support Worker

Pay: £15.00 per hour

Refer a Friend Scheme – £250 awarded (T&C's apply)

We are committed to Equal opportunities. We are currently recruiting for Full time, Part time & Bank Support Workers to support an individual with Autism, learning disability, ADHD and PICA in Oswestry on a 2:1 basis.

We’re looking for positive, caring and proactive individuals to join a dedicated support team for a young man in his parents home. 

To be part of their team, they are looking for the following qualities from a team member:

· Provide support during the good times and the difficult periods our individual faces in their daily life.

· Understand Autism or have had experience working with Autistic people, and that you understand that being autistic is an important part of who they are.

· Be a positive advocate for them.

· Be consistent – do what you say you say you will if you can’t explain why.

· Be prepared to motivate them in a supportive manner

· Be patient and understanding encourage them on the difficult days

· Work with them to solve issues and overcome day to day tasks

· Come to work to “Get to know me” as that is what is needed to support them

· Work as part of the team who deliver amazing person-centred care

· Be able to support in a family home, which has a dog.

What You’ll Need:

• A genuine passion for supporting people to live their best lives
• Patience, empathy and great communication skills (verbal and non-verbal)
• Experience with PBS or a strong willingness to be trained
• A person-centred approach — always putting the individual first
• The ability to work as part of a consistent and committed team
• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, or complex health conditions is desirable.

Schedule:

• 08:00 to 20:00 (7 days a week)
• Overtime available

*Refer a Friend Bonus:

• £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their first shift
• £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their probation period
