Langley has an exciting opportunity for a passionate, organised, and talented Cook to join our friendly and dedicated team in Bury. If you take pride in preparing delicious, nutritious meals and enjoy making a positive difference to people's daily lives, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a permanent part-time role, working 22 hours per week across a 7-day rota, offering a salary of £14,924 per annum.

As our Cook, you'll play a vital role in creating enjoyable dining experiences for residents, preparing high-quality meals that cater to a range of dietary needs while helping to create a warm and welcoming environment.

About the Role

  • Actively assess and manage risks to ensure a safe environment for staff, service users, and the public, while adhering to all relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Maintain high hygiene standards, ensure proper waste disposal, and oversee food purchasing, storage, preparation, cooking, and serving.
  • Plan menus collaboratively, minimize waste, liaise with suppliers for best value, and conduct regular stock audits to ensure proper rotation and removal of expired items.
  • Develop and implement training plans for residents and trainees, supervise their activities, record progress, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and project rules.
  • Manage training activities with a businesslike approach, aim for self-financing, and enforce security measures to maintain acceptable risk levels during kitchen operations.
