East Sussex College is exploring the potential expansion of our Evening Motor Vehicle provision for the 2026/27 academic year and would be interested in hearing from individuals who may be open to future teaching opportunities.

At this stage, we are gathering expressions of interest only and are not recruiting for a specific vacancy.

We would be keen to connect with professionals who have:

• Industry experience within the Motor Vehicle sector, including light vehicle maintenance and repair, diagnostics, MOT, hybrid and electric vehicles, or related disciplines.
• Experience delivering vocational training, apprenticeships, or industry-recognised qualifications.
• A passion for sharing knowledge and developing future automotive talent.
• An interest in supporting adult learners through evening study programmes.

This opportunity could include:

• Delivering engaging evening classes to earners.
• Teaching practical and theoretical aspects of Motor Vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Supporting learners to develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required within the automotive industry.
• Contributing to the development of future evening provision.
• Working collaboratively with a specialist curriculum team to provide an excellent learner experience.

If you can demonstrate the following, we'd love to hear from you:

• Recent and relevant Motor Vehicle industry experience.
• Relevant industry qualifications.
• Assessor and/or IQA qualification (desirable).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

For many of our teaching roles, we welcome applications from candidates at any stage of their career, including industry professionals with little or no teaching experience. We can provide teacher training and development opportunities to support your transition into education and help you succeed in the classroom.

Annual salary: Circa £30,000 - £42,000 FTE

(Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours:   Variable – We are aiming to run this provision Tuesday to Thursday, between 4pm and 8pm.
