East Sussex College is looking to expand its range of adult leisure learning courses. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with experience, skills and passion in a wide variety of subjects who would like to teach part-time courses to adult learners.

Whether you're an experienced tutor, industry professional, skilled hobbyist, freelancer, craftsperson, or simply someone with expertise that others would benefit from learning, we'd love to hear from you.

This exciting role will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging leisure learning sessions for adult students.
• Teaching short courses, typically running for 5 to 6 weeks, for 2 to 3 hours per week, during the day or evening.
• Sharing your practical knowledge, enthusiasm and experience in a supportive learning environment.
• Supporting adult learners to develop new skills, confidence and enjoyment in their chosen subject.

If you can demonstrate the following, then we'd love to hear from you:

• Extensive knowledge, skills or experience in a particular subject, hobby, craft or activity.
• A passion for helping others learn and develop.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to create an inclusive and welcoming learning environment for adult learners.
• For many of our teaching roles, we welcome applications from candidates at any stage of their career, including industry professionals with no or limited teaching experience. We can provide teacher development and access to teaching qualifications to support your success in the classroom.

Subjects of particular interest include:

• Furniture upholstery
• Social media and digital skills, including LinkedIn
• Arts and crafts
• Home and lifestyle skills
• Creative and practical hobbies
• Wellbeing and personal development topics
• Languages for conversation

We are also keen to hear from anyone with a specialist skill, hobby or interest that could be developed into an engaging adult leisure course.

College location: Based at our Eastbourne or Lewes Campus.

Annual salary: Circa £22 Per Hour including Holiday rate.

(Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)

Hours:   Sessional – Typically 2-3 hours per week, for a 5-6 week stint.
