Keep Derian Moving - Car Checker Volunteer
Our cars play an important role in supporting the work of Derian House, helping our nurses and support teams to care for babies, children, young people, and their families.
We’re looking for a reliable volunteer who enjoys cars and practical tasks to help with simple weekly vehicle checks, ensuring our cars and minibuses are ready for our teams to use.
You don’t need to be a mechanic - just someone with a good eye for detail who enjoys helping behind the scenes.
What you’ll be doing:
Carrying out weekly visual checks such as checking screenwash levels and looking for warning lights
Completing simple car check sheets
Reporting any concerns or issues to the Estates Team
You’ll love this role if you:

Have a good eye for detail and like things done properly
Are happy to work outside in different weathers

A regular commitment on Monday mornings (around a couple of hours)
Training:
Full site induction and ongoing support provided

The minimum age of volunteering is 18yrs
We ask all applicants to disclose, in confidence, any unspent criminal convictions in advance of a DBS check
All volunteers are required to wear a uniform, which will be provided free of charge
