Events Assistant (Apprentice)

Location: The Prince of Wales Hospice, WF8 4BG

Salary: £24,851 (FTE)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (including occasional weekend working)

Are you organised, enthusiastic and looking to build a career in fundraising and events? We're looking for an Events Assistant to join our Fundraising team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience while completing an apprenticeship, learning from experienced fundraising professionals and developing the skills needed for a rewarding career in the charity sector.

At The Prince of Wales Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care in a supportive and respectful environment. Our 14-bed inpatient unit, located just minutes from Junction 32 of the M62 in Pontefract, also offers outpatient and community services, including a successful Lymphoedema clinic. Fundraising is a vital part of the income generated to keep the Hospice running and offering support to patients and families across the Five Towns community.

About the Role

As our Events Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the planning, promotion and delivery of a diverse programme of fundraising events. You'll help provide an excellent experience for supporters, volunteers and participants, assist with event marketing and administration, maintain accurate records, and work closely with colleagues across the Hospice to deliver events that raise vital funds and awareness for our services. Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience while developing the skills needed for a successful career in fundraising and events.

  • Friendly, approachable and confident communicating.
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Keen to learn and develop new skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and willing to learn new systems.
  • Flexible and happy to work occasional evenings and weekends when events require.
