As part of the BES Group, Irish Engineering Services is a leading engineering examination provider in the Republic of Ireland and the exclusive provider for two of Ireland’s largest insurance companies.

We help clients maintain statutory compliance for plant and equipment, supporting the safety of people and property across all sectors including local authorities, fire services, education and training boards, dairy processing, pharmaceuticals and brewing.

We currently have a vacancy for a Pressure Engineer Surveyor, ideally located in Dublin, Meath or Louth. Other Leinster locations may also be considered, as the workload is primarily focused across the province.

What will you be doing?
As a Pressure Engineer Surveyor, you will examine, test and report on pressure equipment including air conditioning units, coffee boilers, process vessels, safety valves, air receivers and steam boilers. You will manage a book of clients and deliver a professional end-to-end service that helps them remain compliant with relevant statutory legislation and supports safer working environments.
 

In return, we offer a comprehensive reward package:

• Pay and progression: €60,000 starting salary, negotiable depending on experience and location, rising to €69,593 after year one, €77,325 after year two and €82,480 after year three (if you are already working as an Engineer Surveyor, we recognise relevant experience in this specialist role when discussing entrance salary).
• Training and technical support: Industry-leading technical training before initial licensing as a surveyor and throughout your career, supported by a full-time dedicated technical support team. There is also the opportunity to train in an additional discipline, such as lifting equipment, and we pay annual engineering institution membership fees.
• Flexibility and working pattern: A strong focus on work-life balance and flexibility. Our Engineer Surveyors work a 40-hour week (including travel) and have the freedom to plan their own diaries and start/finish their day in a way that works for them, subject to client, training and inspection demands. They also have access to our flexi-leave system, which allows up to 13 additional days of flexi-leave per annum.
• Vehicle, equipment and site support: A fully expensed company car scheme with a generous private mileage allowance.  Company van or car allowance alternatives are also available where these are a better individual fit.  Spouse or partner (>25) insured for company vehicle. Business tablet, phone, connectivity, PPE, tools and equipment are also provided.
• Leave, pension and wellbeing: Up to 10% company pension contribution in addition to your own contribution, company sick pay scheme, 24 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, Good Friday, Christmas Eve and an additional day for your birthday each year.

To join our team as a Pressure Engineer Surveyor, you will need:  

• An NVQ4 level engineering qualification (equivalent to the higher end of NFQ6). Substantial hands-on experience working with equipment such as boilers, pressure vessels, heating systems, air conditioning units and refrigeration systems.
• The ability to explain complex technical matters clearly and communicate safety issues to clients in a timely, professional and confident manner.
• Good command of the English language to enable production of accurate technical reports which are coherent and professional.
• Familiarity with MS Office software and comfort/confidence using modern IT devices (e.g. tablet & smart phone).
• A full clean driving licence.
