Job Objectives

Reporting to the Revenue Accountant, your role as Accounting Technician would be to lead on some areas of financial reporting and support on others, support with finance systems maintenance and capital budgeting monitoring.  It is a varied role with lots of scope to develop both yourself and the role.

• With strong finance and system skills, your key responsibilities will include:
• Complete reconciliations, examples including but not limited to payroll, VAT, balance sheet and bank.  
• Support with completing the year end accounts and audit.
• Develop knowledge of the finance system and support with ongoing maintenance.
• Support with capital budgeting and report production.

Skills Required

You should hold an AAT or equivalent qualification, with experience in a finance department ideally in a local government finance setting.

You will be a confident communicator who is able to foster great working relationships with a flexible approach and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
