As a Hygiene Operative, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the production facility, ensuring a safe environment for the manufacture of high-quality food products.

We have roles across all sites on day or night shift.

DBP/CGR: Sausage facility, Down Business Park, Downpatrick

FBR: Bacon facility, Finnebrogue Road, Downpatrick

OTB: Vegetarian facility, Down Business Park, Downpatrick


Duties / Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled and deep cleaning of production equipment, machinery, and work areas in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), hygiene schedules, and food safety requirements.
  • Complete pre- and post-cleaning inspections, ensuring production areas meet required hygiene standards and are verified through appropriate testing and quality checks.
  • Maintain accurate cleaning and food safety records in real time, ensuring full compliance with traceability, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow all health and safety, hygiene, PPE, chemical control, allergen management, contamination control, and site security procedures at all times.
  • Safely use, maintain, and store cleaning equipment and chemicals, reporting any faults, incidents, or environmental concerns promptly.
  • Work efficiently to support production schedules, maintaining high standards of cleanliness while meeting operational deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively across production areas to support safe, efficient operations and undertake any other reasonable duties required within the scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills, including good English reading, writing and numerical.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with self-motivation and initiative.
  • Readiness to learn.

Hours of Work

Dayshift: 4 shifts per week from 6am - 6pm on a rota basis.

Level 1 (training) £13.80 | Level 2: £14.38

Nightshift: 4 shifts per week from 6pm - 6am on a rota basis.

Level 1 (training) £14.30 | Level 2: £14.88
